On protests in the night of the 6th of August, protesters in Portland were surrounded by police, and consequently made a shield wall. This allowed for a few de-arrests and deterred the police from charging or advancing into the heavily geared crowd. Tear gas as well is only for cosmetic now, as most protesters in Portland have experienced it so much that it seems as though they have developed an immunity.
Last night was the 100th-day anniversary of demonstrations in Portland, leading to more militant activity than normal in the city, as well as a more aggravated response from the police force. Protesters set up barricades and incendiary devices were used, and police sent back more brutality as well as gassing residential areas.
