On protests in the night of the 6th of August, protesters in Portland were surrounded by police, and consequently made a shield wall. This allowed for a few de-arrests and deterred the police from charging or advancing into the heavily geared crowd. Tear gas as well is only for cosmetic now, as most protesters in Portland have experienced it so much that it seems as though they have developed an immunity.

A demonstration took place on the 12th of September against the current criminal justice system, and for the abolition of police and prisons in Oregon and the United States. Several groups participated, including the Youth Liberation Front, Defend PDX, and Rose City Antifa.
