The RAM (Revolutionary Abolitionist Movement)’s New York Chapter staged a protest this Saturday against police brutality, in line with the Rochester Protests in honor of a black man strangled by police on March 23.
Protests and riots have erupted in Kenosha, Wisconsin, after police shot Jacob Blake, a husband and father of three, 7 times in the back, without probably cause or any possible reason to feel threatened. Many downtown businesses and courthouses have been set on fire in Kenosha, and protests have also erupted downtown.
Protests in Rochester have continued to escalate beyond Day 1 after the release of body camera footage, with groups quickly becoming more militant, and several targeted arrests by police against activists have been made.
Last night was the 100th-day anniversary of demonstrations in Portland, leading to more militant activity than normal in the city, as well as a more aggravated response from the police force. Protesters set up barricades and incendiary devices were used, and police sent back more brutality as well as gassing residential areas.
