This website is not in any way affiliated with organizers at CHAZ, or any other protesting group in Seattle, Washington, or the vicinity of the area.
This is a project to capture a historic time in which protestors came together to create a cultural landscape built in days, the likes of which the United States has not seen in a long time. The strategy of CHAZ is similar to that of Occupy Wall Street, with one key difference. It has allies in Seattle, the state of Washington, and across the country. It is highly unlikely that much action will be taken against CHAZ, given that they are for the most part a coalition of protesting groups. Mayor Durkin has stated that action against CHAZ will not be taken, and Washington Governor Jay Inslee also rebuked the president’s encouragement to invade the autonomous zone.
